One of the biggest ways to help is to spread the word that the hard working, generally self-sufficient people of Ottawa and the surrounding flood areas, need and can use everyone's help. You can do this by forwarding this website  www.OttawaFlood.com and then just forwarding it to as many people as you can.

Just Ask!
Contact any of the agencies on the website or any others that are in the area and see if they need monetary, or in-kind donations of any kind. Tell them about this site and let them know we would gladly put a link to their site, a telephone number or contact info here. We want to bring the proper people and organizations together, anyway we can.
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME!
Are you or your civic, or religious organization looking to do a public service project? Call the Volunteer Reception Center (contact info below) and get the details how your group (or individually) you can help. Come in for an afternoon, a day, a weekend, a week and help us rebuild. You will find no greater satisfaction than helping people face to face. Call the Volunteer Connection and they can have you hit the ground running when you get here.

We have been so fortunate with all of the support so far, but it is going to be a long time to full recovery. Many people in the area were very surprised and caught off guard when the town flooded, many did not have flood insurance, believing it was not needed. Remember, this was a freak weather event, many different odd events came together to cause this massive flooding in Ottawa, Ohio and surrounding area.

Over 75% of the buildings and private residences in the Village of Ottawa, had major or massive damage in this flood.

Web based communications
Are you very proficient in web based applications such as HTML, links, youtube.com, flickr.com, email distribution list, etc.? Or, are you a good copy writer, have editing skills (look around the site, we need it... LOL), like to track down useful information, would you like to be an advocate of those that were affected by the flood? Please contact us by the contact page. In the note section, please tell us how you could help us, help others. This is a private, not-funded, group of people, dedicated to helping our fellow citizens in this time of great need.  That is our only reward... to help others that need help. Please contact us if you are interested in helping.

Please enter a link to www.ottawaflood.com into any web page, or blog, or link anywhere you can, when you do this it helps create a higher listing on any search for things related to Ottawa and the flood. If you put the link in any blog or listing of any kind, it raises our rankings and makes it much easier to find on Google, yahoo, ask, or any other search engine.
